Ms. Smiley, recognized by her peers as one of the top designers in Dallas for several years, was born in Seminole, Oklahoma and is an honor graduate of Oklahoma State University. One of the first designers to be registered in the State of Texas after passing the NCIDQ exam, Ms. Smiley is a professional member of ASID and level four qualified in AutoCAD. Ms. Smiley has been published in a myriad of publications, and is the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in design. Fascinated by architectural drawings she began drawing house plans in fourth grade. Her obsession led her to enroll in Architecture at OSU. But it was the mid 60’s and to her surprise she was informed by the Dean that “women do not enroll in architecture.” Not to be daunted, Ms. Smiley walked across the street to enroll in Interior Design and Fine Art and launched her successful career in interior design.
