MVRF is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on curing blindness by funding visionary research. MVRF provides funding to leading scientists researching treatments for retinal diseases, such as macular degeneration and congenital childhood blindness. Fearless funders of innovative research, one MVRF-funded study found the only known treatment for Leber's Congenital Amaurosis (RPE65), a genetic form of childhood blindness. MVRF is curing blindness! MVRF has awarded $14.6 million over the last decade and, by the end of 2011, will have awarded another $2.25 million in research grants. MVRF is unique.
