Live Violence Free is committed to promoting a violence free community through education and advocacy to address domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and basic needs. This year, in celebration of our 35th anniversary, we instituted a name change to Live Violence Free (formerly the South Lake Tahoe Women's Center) and expanded our mission to better encompass the services available to women, men, and children within our community. Today, the agency provides comprehensive services that seek to empower our community to live violence free. Currently we serve nearly 2,000 individuals a year, providing clients with crisis intervention, peer counseling, advocacy, emergency housing, emergency food and clothing, individual and group therapy, a 52 week Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) for men and women, court mandated supervised visits and monitored exchanges, in-home parenting courses, and community outreach and education.
