About Live Earth Farm Discovery Program

The Live Earth Farm Discovery Program (LEFDP) teaches kids and families the value of seasonal, organic, and local food systems for their bodies, the environment and their communities. The program’s mission is to provide hands-on educational programs for youth on our farm and in local schools, focused on the environmental and nutritional value of local, organic, and sustainable food and farms. Our goal is to reach out to all segments of the community with an emphasis on low-income, diverse and underserved populations. Our farm, Live Earth Farm (LEF), established in 1996, is a 150 acre diversified, organic, family farm overlooking the Pajaro Valley in the Santa Cruz area of California. LEF runs a year round CSA with over 800 members, growing over 50 different fruits and vegetables surrounded by a native landscape of redwoods and oak woodland.
