For over 75 years, LGS Innovations and our legacy companies have supported government and commercial organizations worldwide in the research, development, and deployment of networking solutions. LGS Innovations traces its roots back to the former AT&T Bell Laboratories, who worked on a variety of projects for the U.S. federal government. In 1996, AT&T spun off its communications equipment division and associated Bell Labs research assets into Lucent Technologies, which included business units dedicated to serving the U.S. federal government. Lucent and Alcatel later merged, in 2006, to become Alcatel-Lucent, and as a result of this transaction, LGS Innovations became the successor to those U.S. government-dedicated business units and was established to be Alcatel-Lucent’s sole sales and contracting channel for all classified and unclassified business contracted with the U.S. federal government.
