I'm a left brain thinker with right brain talent. I was in the fourth grade when I was introduced to logic puzzles. A torturous homework assignment to the average fourth-grader, but to me, it was a thrill. I would ask the teacher to run off extras so I could do those in addition to the ones assigned. Looking back, that was probably kind of (really, really) nerdy, but I truly loved doing them. And ever since then, I’ve been a problem solver. My interest in art came later: when I was thirteen, I fell in love with it. Drawing, painting, digital – it didn’t matter. I would immerse myself in pastels and charcoal for hours. But when it came time to graduate high school, I had to think to myself, “What kind of career could I have with a love of art?” That’s when I decided that I wanted to teach it.
