Iosil Energy Corporation has developed technology to purify silicon into high purity virgin polysilicon feedstock for the solar industry. Polysilicon is the beginning raw material used in the manufacturing process for solar cells. Our process uses standard metallurgical grade (MGS) feedstock to produce polysilicon in a more cost effective manner than other producers. While traditional polysilicon producers use the MGS feedstock along with chlorine in their processes, Iosil has developed a technology that reacts the MGS with iodine instead of chlorine. The advantage of this technology is that it uses less energy and less equipment in the process.
