Houston Aeros Careers in Houston, TX

The Houston Aeros celebrated their 10th season of play in the American Hockey League during the 2011-12 season. The team has won two hockey titles – the International League’s Turner Cup in 1999 and the AHL’s Calder Cup in 2003. The Aeros have been to the post-season in all but two seasons. Houston is a city rich in hockey history. Such legends as Gordie Howe, Mark Howe, Marty Howe, Mark Messier and Jacques Lemaire have all spent time in Houston playing for teams such as the WHA Aeros, USHL Skippers/Huskies and the CPHL/CHL Apollos. The Aeros play at the state-of-the-art Toyota Center in downtown Houston. The Toyota Center is also home to the NBA’s Houston Rockets. The Houston Aeros entered into a new era prior to the 2003-04 season, when they were bought by the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild.
