Hot Day at the Zoo is a fiercely progressive 4-piece string band grown in Lowell, MA. Just before celebrating their 6th year together, the band released their sophomore EP, Long Way Home in November 2008. Darker and edgier than their debut, full-length album, the wildly popular Cool As Tuesday, the new CD features five gritty, emotionally charged songs. Long Way Home is the first release on the band’s own independent record label INTA Records. HDATZ is Jon Cumming (banjo, dobro, vocals), Michael Dion (guitar, harmonica, vocals,) Jed Rosen (upright bass, vocals), and JT Lawrence (mandolin, vocals).
