With its close proximity to New York City and annual sponsorship of some 500 cultural events, Hofstra University is a happening place. The private, nonsectarian four-year university has an annual enrollment of some 11,450 full- and part-time students. To encourage the success of its students, Hofstra maintains a low student-faculty ratio of 14 to 1. It offers more than 140 undergraduate program options and about 150 graduate program options in liberal arts and sciences; education, health, and human services; business; communications; and honors studies, and it has a School of Law and School of Medicine.
