Hedgefunder is currently being positioned to become a leading third party marketer of private placement offerings in the new hedge fund industry that is currently taking shape in this post financial crisis world. We will advertise and help fund private investment company offerings through a new process known as crowdfunding. Under the new crowdfunding exemption, private investment companies will have the ability to raise capital directly from the public through brokers or funding portals without having to undergo the expensive process of registering their interests. This has been made possible by the JOBS Act that was signed into law in April 2012 as well as the lifting of the general solicitation ban on hedge funds. The new law is expected to be fully implemented in the fourth quarter of 2013 allowing for both accredited and nonaccredited investors to participate in crowdfunding.
