Designer and manufacturer of cold weather apparel and gear. Organizer of ski-mountaineering adventures. Cozy Layers was born out of neccessity while climbing Aconcagua (highest mtn outside Asia). Almost getting frostbitten, dehydrated and low sugar founder Swamy Karnam decided that the best way to keep water fluid and food edible was to have them stored in pockets on the chest and have access passages through all layers -- outer shell, down jacket, fleece jacket. This concept was tested on Denali in June of 2012 and a contract was signed with Werx Designs (the designers of Eddie Bauer's ascent series) to created a marketable product. Currently the company is in a startup phase. A second set of prototypes were designed which will be tested by Diego who starts a 2650 mile backpacking from from Mexico to Canada on April 18th 2013.
