Founded in 1992, the Council on Military Education in Texas and the South works to promote and support quality education programs that are available to military personnel, their dependents and Department of Defense civilians stationed within the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The organization reincorporated as Council on Military Education in the South in 2011. Develop and maintain a close, effective working relationship among military, college educators and other professional organizations concerned with academic and vocational education. Identify, study and seek solutions to issues that jointly affect colleges and the educational benefits of DoD personnel and their family members. Submit findings to institutions and government agencies concerned in order to support purposes of the organization. Recognize the achievements of those persons and organizations that have contributed to the advancement of education opportunities for personnel in Arkansas, Louisiana, Okla
