About CodeIT
The mission of Code IT is to empower and improve the lives of residents residing in the Public Housing Authority (PHA) through Code IT’s software and coding training program. Code IT works with communities in New Jersey residing in Public Housing Authorities (PHA). These communities have a high concentration of households with low or middle income level earnings. Code IT’s students are selected from these families, trained in software development and coding using the Python Coding Stack. That's followed by an internship and or full time job. Students learn through a mix of lectures, hands-on workshops, projects, pair-programming, and a Capstone Project. By the time students graduate from Code IT, they will have a minimum of two projects in their software engineering portfolio and everything they need to power their new career as a software engineer and remove themselves from a cycle of poverty.
