The City University of New York (CUNY) is the big "U" in the Big Apple. The college has more than two dozen institutions in the five boroughs of New York City and is the US's largest urban university system. About 480,000 undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students (from more than 200 countries) are enrolled at CUNY, which has 11 senior colleges, six community colleges, a doctoral-granting graduate school, a law school, the School of Professional Studies, and The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. Its 1,750 academic programs range from specialized, career-oriented courses to traditional liberal arts curricula. CUNY employs some 6,700 full-time teaching faculty members.
