The Child Care Resource Center is a private non-profit agency created in 1988 as an initiative of the Nord Family Foundation. The Child Care Resource Center was developed to have a countywide impact on early childhood education. The agency’s need in the community derived from local and national research, which indicated a direct correlation between deprivation in quality early childhood experiences and the social problems of teenagers. The Child Care Resource Center was created to increase quality childcare services available to all families. It would elevate the overall quality of early childhood education in Lorain County by offering training and support to childcare providers. In 1993 the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) became part of Ohio’s Child Care Resource and Referral Network with a service delivery area of Lorain, Erie, Huron, Sandusky and Seneca counties (SDA 2).
