Cherokee Youth Football Association is a great place to come and play. We offer Football and Cheer programs that are feeder teams into each of the high schools of Cherokee County. That is why you see the school colors and team logos on this site. We are divided into the following age groups: 6/7 8/9 10/11 12/13 In this league there are football player weight limits; however, every child can still play within their own age group. The weight limit for 6/7 year olds is 75lbs. The weight limit for 8/9 year olds is 100lbs. The weight limit for 10/11 year olds is 125lbs. The 12 /13 year old division has no weight limit. There are two weigh-ins during the season; one before the jamboree, and one midway through the season. Each age group receives 5 lbs added to the weight limit at mid-season. If a child doesn't make weight, they do not have to play up. The child will become "red striped". This means that they will get a red stripe put on their helmet, and they can only play on the offensive
