Sacramento's "best live theatre for thinkers" -Sacramento News & Review Capital Stage was founded as the Delta King Theatre in 1999. At that time, the company was a division of the Riverboat Delta King, performing in the riverboat's intimate, 115-seat theatre. In 2004, we became a professional, Equity company and in 2005, Capital Stage Company, became an independent, nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, increasing our capacity to stage innovative and thought-provoking productions and to become a leader in the evolution of the performing arts in our region.
