The California Student Sustainability Coalition (CSSC) is uniting and empowering California's community of higher education to collaboratively and nonviolently transform our selves and our institutions based on our inherent social, economic, and ecological responsibilities. Founded in 2003, CSSC is made up of student organizations from around the state working together to advance sustainability in all areas of human endeavor. We are currently collaborating with key decision makers to promote, create, and implement university sustainability policies and transform higher education in California. We are a growing network of passionate young leaders building a community of shared values and working to educate, train, and network the next generation of leaders here in the Golden State. Our most recent victory is the landmark UC Policy on Sustainable Practices – arguably the largest, most comprehensive university sustainability policy to date, adopted in the number-one knowledge-creating i
