California Institute For Biodiversity Careers in San Francisco, CA

The California Institute for Biodiversity (CIB), a statewide 501(c)3 non-profit, fosters environmentally informed citizens by improving science literacy, environmental education, and the use of appropriate technology in the classroom. Since its founding in 1995 by Executive Director Carol J. Baird, Ph.D., CIB has trained hundreds of teachers and provided innovative educational resources to thousands of students statewide. This has been accomplished through a series of programs beginning with our namesake Cal Alive! - Exploring Biodiversity series, which highlights 53 habitats representing every major ecological community in the state. From there, we started to focus on specific regions of the state, beginning with Southern California and moving into Central California and the Bay Area, through our Eureka Series program.
