The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement and related services to all of the citizens of the county, including the municipalities of Concord, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, Midland and Mount Pleasant. Both Concord and Kannapolis operate police departments that provide primary law enforcement services to the citizens of those municipalities. The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office provides supplemental services to these municipalities, when needed. The Cabarrus Sheriff’s Office has an authorized strength of 234 employees, including 162 with Law Enforcement (145 are sworn officers with full power of arrest) and 72 with the Detention Center.
