Brandeis University offers more than 40 undergraduate majors and more than 30 master's and doctoral degree programs. Located just west of Boston, it comprises the College of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the International Business School, the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, the Lown School for Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, and the Rabb School of Continuing Studies. The university has an enrollment of more than 5,000 students; the student/faculty ratio is 9-to-1. A non-sectarian Jewish community-sponsored institution, Brandeis University was founded in 1948 and is named after the late Justice Louis Brandeis of the US Supreme Court.
