In 1990, former Australian PGA players Steve Bann and Dale Lynch – The No. 1 Golf Coaching Team in the World – were selected by the Australian government to develop junior golf in the state of Victoria. The duo formed the golf division of the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) in Melbourne, and thus created the first non-Olympic sport to become a part of the nation’s Olympic program. Within two years, the program became quickly recognized worldwide, due to Bann & Lynch’s integration of the “Olympic styleâ€-training approach to the golf game.
