Armour Transportation Systems was founded by Mr. Gordon Armour in the early 1940’s, using his truck to haul hay and gravel out of Taylor Village, a small farming community located 20 miles outside of Moncton, NB. Throughout the 1940’s and 1950’s, the operation generally consisted of hauling gravel locally and loading hay for delivery to various points in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. In the 1950’s, the hay business tapered off and Gordon started hauling for Kraft Foods and a number of commodities, including Christmas trees destined to the USA.
