We are an independent furniture shop in rural Stow, MA — “Apple Country”, on account of the many orchards that dot the landscape. We make heirloom quality hand-built pieces, blending Mission-style design with a local rustic influence. Apple Country Woodworking was originally a hobby for owner/founder/builder Kevin O’Brien. Kevin’s professional background through the late 1990s and early 2000s was primarily in the high tech start-up scene in the Boston area, following his education in philosophy at the University of Massachusetts. After spending more than a decade in front of computers, he began learning the hand and machine skills of the cabinetmaker and carpenter. Initial projects designing and building furniture for his and his wife’s home in Stow opened the door to making furniture professionally.
