Andromeda was set up on Murano in 1972, initially to produce classical Venetian lighting. Thanks to the abilities of its master glassblowers and extraordinary business dynamism, it rapidly stood out from the Murano production scene. In 1985, the demand for custom made lighting for internationally famous customers necessitated an initial expansion and reorganization of the production structure. Andromeda gradually specialized in niche products and in the 1990’s began to collaborate with leading architectural studios with which it developed custom made designs of high technical and aesthetic value. Andromeda has worked hand-in-hand with inspirationally creative architects and designers, caliber of Philippe Starck, Karim Rashid, David Chipperfield, Fiona Thompson and Tobia Scarpa, just to name a few who have put their names to Andromeda collections or who have worked with the company to realize exclusive, unrepeatable personal projects.
