Alzheimer’s Community Care is a Florida-based 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 to provide specialized care to Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders patients and to support the needs of caregivers. We serve Palm Beach, Martin and Saint Lucie counties. Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that occurs gradually and results in memory loss, changes in behavior and personality, a decline in thinking abilities and eventually, death. More than five million people in the United States alone currently suffer with Alzheimer’s disease. On average, an Alzheimer's disease patient lives 8 to 10 years after they are diagnosed. Some patients live with the disease for as long as 20 years. The caregivers of patients experience their own stages of the disease (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance).
