Alpha was founded in 1974 by parents of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities looking for an alternative to state institutionalization for their children. At the time, new models for services were just beginning; they named the first home after the first letter in the Greek alphabet in the hope that many similar homes would follow.Alpha Supported Living Services is a nonprofit agency providing supported living, group home, and community access services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in homes in King and Snohomish Counties.
