A Step Ahead is an Early Intervention program which seeks to improve the lives of infants and toddlers with special needs by improving their development skills and providing support to their family. Family-centered services are provided by our experienced pediatric therapists, special educators, and family resource coordinators. Services are provided at the home or childcare and focus on improving the child's functioning in his/her daily routines. Special attention is given to supporting the parent/child relationship. A Step Ahead also supports young children in foster care through Infant Mental Health services, advocacy and education. We assist foster parents in addressing the challenges often faced while raising a child who has experienced abuse, neglect, and an abrupt disruption in their attachments.
