A Giving Heart Foundation Careers in Chicago, IL

The birth of A Giving Heart Foundation started with just that – the birth of a beloved little boy... Brayden Berk was born in April 2010. Within hours of birth, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease called Aortic Valve Stenosis. Along his journey, his family discovered that there are few resources for such children and their families, even though one out of every 125 infants are born with congenital heart disease. When Brayden was just one month old, Dr. Ziyad M. Hijazi, the Medical Director at Rush Center for Congenital and Structural Heart Disease, successfully performed a non-invasive balloon procedure to open his aortic valve. With the hope of helping other children, Brayden’s family formed A Giving Heart Foundation, a 501C (3) charitable foundation, which helps fund research and care for children with congenital and structural heart disease. A Giving Heart Foundation is dedicated to eliminating the need for babies and children to have open heart surgery.
