Inspired by the legendary flea markets of Paris, it is the go-to source for leading interior designers and in-the-know wealthy consumers seeking antiques, design, estate jewelry, vintage fashion and fine art. In 2011, 1stdibs received financial backing from Benchmark Capital partner, Matt Cohler — one of Facebook’s first seven employees and a founding member of LinkedIn. This initial investment allowed 1stdibs to make a number of key hires, including CEO David Rosenblatt, former CEO of DoubleClick during its $3.2 billion sale to Google in 2008. In 2012, 1stdibs gained a second round of funding from Index Ventures and Spark Capital.
