Duties: Responsible for managing the development, creation, and issuance of the technical tender documents according to the proposal schedule and defined sales strategy for controls and distribution products including Subsea Umbilical Termination Assembly (SUTA), Subsea Distribution Unit (SDU), Master Control Station (MCS), Subsea Control Module (SCM), Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU), Steel Tube Flying Leads (STFL), and Multiple Quick Connect (MQC) plates. Ensure all tender solutions developed comply with customer specifications and North America standards. Coordinate with design, product engineering, planning and costing teams to generate cost effective technical solutions for the tenders. Manage and communicate with interfacing product engineering groups on solution fit, form and function to ensure system viability. Adhere to the Aker Solutions’ tender PEM (Project Execution Model) process, which defines the roles and responsibilities for tendering and associated checklist, and design, engineering and quality procedures. Apply an understanding of internet client, whether supply-chain, manufacturing, etc., requirements when generating procedures and documentation such as Master Equipment List (MEL), Master Document List (MDL), technical write-ups and report. Ensure traceability of design. Apply knowledge of industry standards specific to subsea. Read and interpret project drawings. Generate specifications, procedures and other technical documentation relative to function (i.e. FAT, EFAT and Manufacturing). Maintain notes, decisions transparency and lessons learned during project execution phases. Perform calculations relevant to core discipline. Review and interpret analysis from supporting calculations done by others. Understand client technical requirements and interpret the effect on the cost and schedule of the project. Provide inputs to the cost and schedule impact for the project bid.
Qualifications and Personal Qualities
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field and 5 years of progressive experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. This experience must include: 2 years of engineering experience in subsea oil and gas controls and distribution products; 2 years of experience in project execution; 2 years of experience utilizing SAP, solidworks and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
