  • To ensure optimal performance and data integrity, perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as backups, performance tuning, and index optimization.
  • Monitor database usage and capacity and recommend upgrades or expansions as needed.
  • Gather, organize, and interpret statistical data from the Database to provide reports and answer questions from upper management.
  • Develop documentation and standards for database design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to gather requirements and ensure database solutions meet business needs.
  • Identify and resolve production and application development problems using the database management system software or utilities.

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Strong understanding of database management systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools, such as entity-relationship diagrams and data dictionaries.
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex database issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Education and Experience


Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least three years of experience in data processing, with at least two years of experience with database management systems.
  • Experience with data modeling, database design, and query optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Certifications: Certification in database management, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
