Resume Mistakes- Barrier To Your Career Goals!

Commoners differ from achievers, not in the way they represent themselves but the way they carry themselves. In analogous to this, the resume that you make for your career job exposes the way you carried yourself throughout your lifetime in terms of qualification.

Though it is a simple bulletin, it should specifically emphasize the implications of the job that you’re looking to apply. Even the minute thing which might be a trivia will decimate the possibilities of getting your profile picked.

Preparing a resume in a hurry burry just because there is a job hunt going on in a particular concern or forwarding your outdated resume owing to the time limit for the application will not favor you in any possible way.

When we talk about the importance of Resume in deciding your career path, just take a look at the most common mistakes that a lot of applicants make while typing out their resume,

  • Poor Standard of writing: This includes the usage of words which may sound alike but spelled differently like ‘to’, ‘for’, ‘affected’, ‘effected’, ‘they’re’, ‘their’ and so on. Added to this, using vague words such as ‘various’, ‘many’, ‘numerous’ also reduces the quality of your resume.

  • Including irrelevant details: A ticket to a live football game will not permit you to watch a live cricket match, instead. Similarly, if you want to apply for a professional job, just include whatever is necessary and relevant for the particular position of the job. Remove all the unnecessary information, say for example, your co-curricular activities, your personal interests, name of your spouse, kids and so on.

  • Filtering SM links: Make sure that you include your social media links, URLs for your LinkedIn or Twitter accounts can be placed in the header of your resume following your contact and it literally increases your opportunity to a larger extent.

  • Placement of Skills: Often applicants forget the fact that the employers skim through your resume to look at your specific skills that are required for the position, so ensure that you put it on the top of your resume.

Just keep a vigil of the above errors when you sit in front of a computer to type your resume and also check that your resume doesn’t exceed two pages, because recruiters always look for a simple and precise one.

Once you are done with the above, proof read it more than twice and you'd get a feel that says, ‘Alright! That is exactly my profile’.
