Keep Your Resume Out of CCLC

  • Link Copied

Have you ever noticed the front cover of weekly magazines, first look poster of films and all that that gives us a façade of a particular important thing? Majority of such things will have its outer appearance appealing enough and grab the attention of a person quickly.

Now, this has something to do with the resume that you prepare for your job search. Though, you wouldn’t need to decorate your resume with flowery make-overs, the cover letter that you write in your resume holds high preference.

The hiring manager or the recruiter will be interested to read the contents in your resume only if your cover letter is polite and simple. Therefore, just take a look at the Common Cover Letter Concerns (CCLC) that should be taken care off while creating your resume,

    1. Salutation is the first process to start with where you can use LinkedIn for the purpose of searching the name of the recipient. This can serve your time and once you’ve found the description of the company and the job details, use the search results to tailor your cover letter against the use of generic salutation ‘Dear Hiring Manager’

    1. Make the format of your cover simple and don’t feed too much of unwanted information, that would test the patience of the hiring manager or the concerned authorities. Of course you can be creative, but ensure that that does not affect the promptness of your cover. Creating a coral cover letter containing a 4 to 5 paragraph format with the use of bullets would be more than enough and in deed a good way to follow

    1. Value consideration is really important in this case. You might think that you addressed the reader in your own way, but you wouldn’t know what the hiring manager thinks. For instance, instead of using plane phrase like ‘these are my strong points’. Just make it polite like ‘I’m proficient in so and so things and you may be interested to know about it in detail’.

    1. Ending the cover letter forms the end part of this story. As ending is always a bit tough to handle, you can go for the decent professional language that are used for closing. For that reason don’t try to steal the style of another person to use it for your sake. Just consider that you’re going through a face to face interview and how would you pretend at the end of the interview. Deploy it over your resume in the same manner.

There are lots of people who get laurels only with the way they carry themselves similarly if you think, your proficient contents are not up to the mark, just cover it up with your cover letter.
