Accounting Associate Job Description

What you will do:
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with the bank to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide timely financial advice and support to regional management.
- Monitor branch accounting activities and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare MIS reports and assist in financial analysis as required.
- Conduct internal audits of respective branches to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Reconcile bank and credit card transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage vendor and customer payments and reconcile accounts accordingly.
- Provide support for retail software systems and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Analyze expenses and identify areas for cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain meticulous records of accounts and financial transactions.
- Verify advance payments and scheme redemptions in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in year-end accounts preparation and finalization processes
- Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare reports related to GP analysis, inventory management - including norm stock and aged stock analysis etc.
- Responsible for timely sale tax, Corporate Tax and tax assessment submissions.
- Coordinating with Tax and AML compliance authorities for the new updates and improvements.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or IFRS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with financial report writing tools/software.
- Understanding of tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Experience with budget preparation is a plus.
