We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Catering Sales Manager to join our team! This role is responsible for generating revenue by selling catering services for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings, and other special occasions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in sales, excellent relationship-building skills, and a passion for hospitality. You will play a key role in driving business growth, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless event execution while working closely with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and secure new catering clients through networking, cold calls, and referrals.
- Develop and implement strategies to generate new leads through industry events, online marketing, partnerships, and community outreach.
- Create customized catering proposals that align with clients’ needs, budgets, and event themes.
- Conduct site visits and tastings to showcase venue capabilities, menu options, and service offerings.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure all agreements meet company policies and profitability goals.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, vendors, and community organizations to drive repeat business.
- Continuously analyze market trends and competitor offerings to develop strategic sales plans.
Event Coordination & Execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process.
- Offer expert recommendations on menu design, layout, service style, and décor to enhance the overall event experience.
- Work closely with the culinary team to finalize menu selections, accommodate dietary restrictions, and ensure high-quality food presentation.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to coordinate staffing, rentals, and event setup.
- Oversee the setup and execution of events to guarantee a seamless experience.
- Monitor event progress, address client concerns in real-time, and troubleshoot any challenges.
- Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather client feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, proposals, contracts, and event details in the CRM system.
- Track sales goals, generate performance reports, and forecast revenue trends.
- Work within budget guidelines and maximize profitability on each event.
- Manage contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with company policies while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with finance teams to process invoices, track payments, and resolve billing issues.
Brand Representation & Networking
- Act as a brand ambassador by attending industry events, networking functions, and trade shows.
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.
- Engage with local community groups and industry associations to build strategic partnerships.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide guidance and training to junior sales representatives and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes accountability and excellence.
- Share insights and best practices with colleagues to contribute to the overall success of the sales team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in catering sales, hospitality, or event planning.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
