Staff Accountant Jobs in Third Way Washington, DC

Third Way’s Business Operations team is looking for a highly organized individual to join our team as our new Staff Accountant. This position is responsible for performing various daily, monthly and annual accounting duties working under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and in collaboration with the Senior Grants Accountant and other members of the Business Operations team.

Responsibilities:

• Coding and entering invoices into the company’s accounts payable software;
• Recording deposits in the accounting system;
• Performing monthly bank reconciliations and preparing journal entries;
• Recording and processing all invoicing and reporting requirements for donations;
• Preparing the bi-weekly payroll batch for approval;
• Preparing year-end vendor 1099 statements;
• Participating in the preparation for annual financial statement audit;
• Performing other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required;
• Have 1+ year of accounting experience required;
• Active CPA license, preferred;
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Paylocity, and/or Bill.com preferred;
• Practice extreme attention-to-detail;
• Communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally;
• Can work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines;
