Staff Accountant Job in Miami Dolphins Opa Locka, FL

Summary:

• This position is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting operations of the Miami Dolphins and its related entities. 
• The primary focus of the role will be assisting with Miami Dolphins Foundation, Dolphins Cancer Challenge, project accounting and settlements and have event game day responsibilities. 
• All facets of the accounting process for this role could include ticket and sponsor reconciliations, invoicing, bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations, monthly close procedures, and ad hoc projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the financial planning and budgeting process for the Miami Dolphins Foundation
• Issue timely and accurate financial reporting to key stakeholders on a monthly basis
• Record and reconcile all Foundation sponsorships and fundraising activities
• Execute the monthly close process for the Foundation
• Participate in financial audits and with the compilation of tax returns
• Accounting for Hard Rock Stadium Events, including creating estimates, settlements and client invoices
• Responsible for assisting with financial reporting and analysis for all Events held at the stadium
• Willingness to work on other ad hoc projects and analyses as required

Experience / Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 1-3 years relevant experience
• Willingness to work nights and weekends
• Detail oriented, ambitious, organized, team player
• Computer Skills
• High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Oracle EssBase, MS Great Plains, and OnBase experience helpful
• PowerPoint / Tableau data visualization skills helpful
