The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store appearance, and overseeing daily store operations. This role includes managing the store during the Store Manager’s absence or when shifts overlap. The Assistant Manager is expected to lead and motivate the store team to provide outstanding service to all customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead team members to deliver exceptional customer service to both retail and professional customers
- Oversee customer service quality on the sales floor, ensuring team members execute customer service programs such as Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure proper staffing during peak business hours (lunch, evenings, weekends, etc.)
- Assist in setting team goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring ongoing training compliance
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified team members in partnership with management
- Ensure company phone answering standards are met
- Manage buy online/ship to store orders, hub and store transfers, and DC add orders with timely customer follow-up
- Utilize electronic purchase order systems to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently
- Process retail returns and exchanges accurately and courteously, including issuing refunds and managing returned merchandise
- Verify that all merchandise, warranties, and core charges are properly invoiced before leaving the store
- Communicate Zipline messages and oversee the completion of merchandising tasks and Image Maker projects
- Ensure team members adhere to company policies regarding work schedules and timekeeping
- Perform store opening and closing duties, including cash handling, securing deposits, arming security systems, and locking the premises
- Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, computer hardware, service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Parts Professional Certification
- ASE Certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
