This position requires professionalism, reliability, and strong collaboration with school staff. While the aide will work on-site at the school, the parent/guardian will serve as the direct employer.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide continuous 1:1 support to assist the child in participating in classroom routines, learning activities, and transitions.
Assist with diapering, toileting, and hygiene, ensuring safety and dignity at all times.
Support snack and lunch routines, including prompting, assisting, and monitoring as needed.
Implement behavioral support strategies, including calm redirection, engagement prompting, and assistance during challenging moments.
Encourage and facilitate communication, social skills, and peer interactions as appropriate.
Follow classroom expectations while working collaboratively and respectfully with school staff.
Maintain a consistent, patient, and positive approach to support the child’s regulation and participation.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a paraprofessional, instructional aide, behavior technician (RBT), nanny, childcare provider, or special needs caregiver.
Comfort and experience with personal care tasks, including diapering.
Ability to remain calm, supportive, and professional during challenging situations.
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance/punctuality.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must pass a background check (required prior to employment).
