As we witness, today’s technology being drawn to a never seen before and novel ways of approach in the development of business sectors and corporate firms, the emergence of Video interviews have become so viral that majority of the Hiring Managers have adopted to this means of recruiting.

Interviewing a candidate face to face is pretty comfortable and in fact, the interviewer will get a deeper insight about the candidate’s personality and the ability to handle tricky scenarios whereas, it is totally a different scenario in this case of Video Interview.

Are you an interviewer? Just take a glimpse at the following points that would guide you through assessing a candidate engaged in a video interview,

Attitude

There are certain people whose original attitude would be revealed only when they are in their familiar atmosphere. Therefore, as an interviewer, you should observe all the nuances of attitude of the candidate that you are interviewing. Sometimes, even if the candidate seems to be pretending or flaunting, it can easily be noted in the video.

Atmosphere and Body Language

These are the two important aspects that should qualify the seriousness and originality of a candidate. A candidate can be open to the video in any palatable atmosphere as per his/her wish, that’s OK. But they should have a sense of understanding that it is really an interview and so their atmosphere should be kept clean and noise-free.

By looking at the body language of the candidates, you get to know up to what extent the candidate is really genuine. If the eyeballs keep rotating and if it stays fixed at a particular point, then it suggests that something or someone is behind the camera helping him.

Tech issues and Dress

Before turning up for a video it is the responsibility of a candidate to ensure that the connection is highly reliable, however, there might come situations where the connection breaks down because of some unknown issues. Remember, in this case, the candidate should not be simply rejected without considering his performance in the interview.

The dress that candidate is wearing should be presentable and project his dignity to the interviewer, though it is an online video interview

Alright! The above scenarios might look similar to a face to face interview, but sometimes you might even lose your conscious to note the points as technology fakes reality. Haha, I guess you got the metaphor wink
