Indians can rejoice the days are extended!

In recent times, the U.S. government has been going through a massive crisis, amid that their current decision on the H1-B professionals has made Indians heave a sigh of relief.
Current scenario:
From day one, the deadly pandemic has been bringing gruesome news across the USA with the USA jobs market and businesses facing a downfall, and the death toll crossing more than 32,000, some of the top MNC's plans to lay-off H1-B employees in the following months.
Taking this into account, the technology employees under H1-B have been filing petitions to extend their stay to 180 days from 60 days. The USCIS has responded to that.
According to the USCIS, within the time frame if the employee has applied to extend their stay, employment authorization with the same employer, subject to the same terms and conditions of the prior approval, is automatically extended up to 240 days.
It also "reminds petitioners and applicants that it can consider delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic when deciding whether to excuse delays in filing documents based on extraordinary circumstances."
On expiring visas of H1-B professionals, the DHS has expressed their concern and made some changes,
"We recognise that non-immigrants may unexpectedly remain in the United States beyond their authorised period of stay due to COVID-19"
"We continue to carefully analyse these issues and to leverage our resources to effectively address these challenges within our existing authorities. The DHS also continues to take action to protect the American people and our communities, and is considering a number of policies and procedures to improve the employment opportunities of U.S. workers during this pandemic".
