The Senior Accountant is a cornerstone of our finance team, responsible for ensuring that all financial practices align with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) while driving compliance and supporting the organization’s strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and compliant financial records, including vendor payment processing and reconciling bank statements
Execute recurring processes such as:
Month end activities (accruals, journal entries, other various schedules etc)
Weekly cash flow preparation (invoices and bank feed)
Monthly sales tax reporting
Preparing and reconciling franchise royalty reports
Refund monitoring and processing
Support annual audit preparation and documentation (typically February–April)
Compile monthly financial reports, management reporting, and scorecards
Set up and maintain utility accounts for all school sites
Oversee bank account activity, including fund transfers between corporate, school, and franchisee accounts
Troubleshoot and resolve payment/refund issues and other finance-related concerns
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements
Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting aligned with organizational goals
Proficiency in financial systems and tools to support efficient data management and reporting
Analytical thinker with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
Strong ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams
Self-starter with a results-driven mindset and excellent time management
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA certification (or in progress) strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
Experience with multi-site or project-based accounting
Solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards
Advanced proficiency in financial systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Hyperion, and Microsoft Excel
