Job Summary
Vijay Home Foods is seeking a dependable and professional Delivery Truck Driver (Non-CDL) based in Atlanta, GA. This role involves transporting refrigerated products to grocery stores, restaurants, customers and distributors within the Atlanta metro area and select regions of NC, SC, and TN (including 1 overnight route). The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, punctuality, and customer service while handling perishable products with care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial delivery truck (box truck) in compliance with all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Deliver refrigerated food products on scheduled B2B routes, including overnight trips to North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
- Load and unload deliveries using pallet jacks or hand trucks.
- Verify delivery accuracy, obtain proof of delivery (signatures where applicable), and handle occasional invoices, collections or payments.
- Maintain delivery records and communicate delays, issues, or discrepancies to dispatch or supervisors.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Provide courteous, professional service and represent the Vijay Home Foods brand to customers.
- Support warehouse tasks when needed, including inventory handling and order prep.
- Pickup, load and unload damaged goods, and customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork
- Maintain sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer and assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Work Authorization Required.
- Must have valid Drivers License issued by the state of legal residence.
- Minimum 6 (six) months of commercial truck driving experience or 3 (three) months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience required.
- Clean driving record and commitment to road safety.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and handle frequent loading/unloading.
- Prior B2B route delivery experience preferred, especially in the Southeast region.
- Strong time management, organization, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using GPS and delivery tracking apps.
- Willingness to travel overnight as needed (typically 1–2 nights/week).
- Must be punctual, reliable, and adaptable to changing delivery schedules or weather conditions
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
