As an Operation and Pricing Specialist at Abbotts Freight, you will be the engine room of our logistics solutions. You will sit at the intersection of procurement and execution, responsible for securing competitive rates from our global carrier network and ensuring the seamless operational flow of shipments across Air, Ocean, and Domestic modes.
This role requires a unique blend of analytical thinking (for pricing strategy) and high-energy coordination (for operational management), specifically supporting our niche in project logistics and oversized cargo.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Pricing & Procurement
Rate Sourcing:Negotiate and secure spot and contract rates with ocean carriers (FCL/LCL), airlines, and domestic trucking partners.
Quote Development:Prepare comprehensive freight quotations for clients, incorporating Value Added Services (VAS) such as packaging, fumigation, and insurance.
Market Intelligence:Monitor global shipping trends, GRI (General Rate Increases), and peak season surcharges to ensure Abbotts Freight remains competitive yet profitable.
Vendor Management:Maintain and expand relationships with Brokers, liners, and specialized equipment providers for project cargo and General Cargo.
2. Operational Excellence
End-to-End Execution:Manage the full lifecycle of shipments, from booking and documentation (Bill of Lading, Air Waybill) to final delivery.
Project Logistics Support:Coordinate the specialized handling requirements for oversized, heavy-lift, or time-sensitive materials (ISRO projects, oil & gas, renewable energy).
Compliance & Documentation:Ensure all shipments comply with FMC regulations and C-TPAT standards. Oversee customs clearance coordination.
Real-Time Tracking:Utilize our state-of-the-art tracking systems to provide proactive updates to clients, ensuring "Peace of Mind" delivery.
3. Client Partnership
Act as a technical consultant for clients, advising on the most cost-effective routes and modes of transport.
Collaborate with the sales team to "onboard" new business and ensure operational requirements are met from Day 1.
