A well-established tax and accounting firm is seeking a highly experienced Tax Preparer with strong expertise in Business, Individual, and Nonprofit tax preparation. The ideal candidate must also have solid accounting experience and the ability to manage multiple filings with accuracy and professionalism. An EA license is preferred.

Position Summary

The Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040), Business Tax Returns (1120, 1120S, 1065), and Nonprofit Tax Returns (Form 990). The role includes accounting tasks, reviewing financials, client communication, and ensuring full compliance with IRS and state regulations.

This is a completely work-from-office position. Remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Individual, Business, and Nonprofit tax returns
• Prepare 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 990 tax filings
• Handle related state tax filings, amendments, and corrections
• Review financial statements, bank statements, and accounting reports
• Maintain accurate workpapers and support documentation
• Communicate with clients to gather required information and resolve issues
• Assist with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and year-end accounting tasks
• Manage tax notices and follow-ups with tax authorities
• Ensure all files meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Support the tax team during peak filing seasons and manage deadlines efficiently

Requirements

• Strong experience preparing Business, Individual, and Nonprofit tax returns
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of tax preparation experience preferred
• Solid accounting and bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks or similar software)
• EA (Enrolled Agent) license preferred
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tax files and complete work on time
• Completely work-from-office availability required
