Sales Associate/Cashier

The retail sales associate/cashier position at our store is considered a crucial part of the company’s operations. Associates/Cashiers are the face of the business. Associates/Cashiers are the first to interact with our guests, creating a friendly place for them to return again-and-again resulting in an improvement to the neighborhood in which we all live and work. If you have a sincere interest in greeting guests, are a friendly person and like to work with a team, we’ll train you to cashier and help guests fulfill their orders of beer/wine and other convenience items available at our Store.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greeting all customers must be second nature; all customers must feel welcome and accommodated to.

• Accurately count change for each transaction.

• Associates/Cashiers are responsible for replenishing merchandise in the store.

• Help the team keep our store clean and tidy.

• Ordering merchandise is one of the responsibilities. An ordering schedule will be made and should be followed as routinely as possible.

• Keeping the work areas clean for our customers and our employee’s safety.

• Mandatory that all employees have a basic understanding of the equipment and components of operating the store.

• Simple troubleshooting should be basic knowledge for all employees to help eliminate unnecessary down time and inconvenience to our customers.

Qualifications:

• Communication and Problem-solving ability are key.

• Able to handle and reconcile cash, accepting payment from customers and returning change properly.

• Honesty, Integrity, Respect must be held in high regards when dealing with customers, coworker, vendors and supervisors.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to speak, read and understand the English language and able to perform basic math

• Communicates and works as a team player with others

• Able to multitask in a fast paced environment, adjust to change, puts forth initiative

• Able to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays

• Regular dependable work attendance and punctuality required; works scheduled hours

• Frequent lifting of 5-20lbs and occasional lifting up to 25 - 50lbs

• Able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 38 degrees for 30 minutes

• Able to sweep and mop floors, dust shelves, and lift and carry out trash and place in outside dumpster bin
