Whitestone REIT is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Property Manager to oversee operations across a portfolio of retail properties in the Austin/San Antonio Region. This key leadership role is responsible for delivering exceptional tenant experiences, achieving financial performance targets, and maintaining operational excellence. The Property Manager will collaborate closely with internal departments including Leasing, Accounting, Construction, Legal, Acquisitions, and Strategy to ensure the success and growth of the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct frequent property inspections to ensure visual and operational standards are consistently met.
Address tenant and property issues promptly to support tenant business success and satisfaction.
Prepare, monitor, and adjust annual property budgets based on performance trends and strategic goals.
Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; present insights and recommendations to the Regional SVP.
Manage rent collections, perform follow-ups on delinquencies, and strategize collection efforts in collaboration with the Collections Department.
Maintain vendor relationships, ensuring timely and high-quality performance of contracted services.
Support the Acquisitions Team by conducting due diligence and assisting with the onboarding of new assets.
Coordinate with the Leasing Team on tenant relations, move-ins, move-outs, and vacancy readiness.
Relay critical tenant insights from meetings and walk-throughs to internal teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 5 years of experience in retail commercial property management
In-depth knowledge of building systems and facilities management
Proficiency in Yardi or similar commercial property management software
Strong customer service and tenant relations skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members
Self-starter with a high sense of urgency and attention to detail
Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and adaptability
