Manages employee visa applications, work permits, and legal documentation while ensuring company-wide compliance with immigration laws and regulations. They act as a liaison between foreign national employees, legal counsel, and government agencies, maintaining accurate records for all work authorizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of immigration cases, including non-immigrant visas: H-1B, H4 Work Permit, OPT, CPT, TN, Permanent Residents (Green Card)
Compliance: Monitor and update immigration policies to comply with federal and state laws (e.g., LCA tracking, I-9 compliance). Knowledge of labor and employment laws needed.
Documentation: Prepare, review, and submit immigration forms and petitions to appropriate government authorities, and/or the company attorney.
Employee Support: Provide guidance and support to international employees regarding their visa status, travel requirements, and documentation needs.
Collaboration: Work with external immigration counsel, hiring managers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth onboarding and workforce mobility. Finalize and submit immigration application packages to the appropriate governmental agency. Monitor Immigration petition and track deadlines and expiration dates.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Legal Studies, or a related field.
Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in HR, immigration services, or legal environments.
Skills: In-depth knowledge of immigration regulations, strong organizational and record-keeping skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Tools: Familiarity with immigration case management software.
